I have a Sony W230 camera, which worked perfectly fine for a few weeks but recently has started to malfunction by zooming in when I turn on the camera. When I want to use the camera I have to stand at a long distance from the subject.

Is there anyway I can fix this problem?

I've borrowed a Sony Handycam and I need to transfer the video files to my computer for editing. This isn't my camera, so all I have is a USB cable. I've tried plugging it into the camera and computer and turning the camera on. The computer doesn't recognize the software. What do I need to do to get the files onto my computer?
